Heart Song is the second published recording by Bill Neal. His songs are uniquely a blending of his Spirit, the Spirits of Nature and the Spirit of the Drum. He has been spoken of as the Keeper Of Songs. Bill has no formal music training, he plays only the songs he hears from within. The traditional music of the drum gave him the final rhythm of his songs. He has also been honored to sing with the Red Spirit Singers, a northern drum group which was based in Southern California.īill Neal first heard his songs in the forest and mountains listening to the songs of the birds, the whispers of the wind in the trees and across the land, and the voices of the many-legged. ![]() He was honored in a naming ceremony when he was given the name "Mah-na-che-a-shun", "He Sings With His Heart", in the language of the Tongva Tribe, one of the original people of Southern California. He is a story-teller, a teacher, recording artist, and artistic director or the Elk Whistle Ensemble. He strives to live in honor of that heritage.
